There's something about Mary ( 1998 )
A Nice romantic comedy genre movie with plot centering around two characters Mary ( Cameron Diaz ) and Ted ( Ben Stiller ) . We might had crush during school times but how many wait for 13 years to find her back and get her , yes you got it right this movie is all about the same. Good ones , made me laugh a lot at many places and it was interesting to watch this. Cameron Diaz with her cool heavenly looks felt apt for the role and she just blushes easily sweeping off our brains out with her good smiley face, for sure she is a charm.Her acting was cool and natural , but though the movie title says there is something about Mary , i felt that the real show stealer was Ted , Ben stiller a face we seen familiar with Night at the museum. His role as some crack nut guy doing lot of mistakes whatever he does , the incident during the High school prom , his arrest at Miami on a park and be it anything he showed himself as a loser all through the movie but at last he gets his Mary back. That background musicians with guitar at every step of the film singing songs about Mary & Ted was cool n different , liked it a lot. There are other characters too like Detective healy , Pizza boy Tucker , Teds friend Dom who did their role well too giving a perfect blend to it. Even there are lot of scenes i guess are stolen from this movie to our Hollywood like the Dog on fire scene which we can see in vadivels movie and three guys plot and ted getting his old lover back for her was like Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya and there are many other places which reminded me of our tamil movies. Apart from some 100% Adulterated adult dialogues and some disgusting scenes here and there..this movie stays a good watch. Not the best but not bad either. A Average entertainer and for Cameron Diaz fans , i bet yaa..you will love it as i did and is complete fun.
