Just completed Watching PTA's The Master. A slow paced Cult classic . Joaquin Phoenix as Freddie and Phillip Hoffman as Dodd a leader for a Unit called Cause dealing with , Cult , psychological behavior and Time travel. Freddie is a World war veteran returned home after the war. But same time he is a alcoholic and obsessed to sex. Incapable of leading a peaceful life without drinks , he flew home and in same process meets up with Dodd. Dodd sees him and takes him up as his patient and starts his methods to cure his sickness and make him a better man and the bonding between him and freddie and how they travel together in life is rest of story.
Movie is awkwardly slow but yes it was a fine movie. There is nothing special in the movie except the performance of Phillip hoffman. If it wasnt him , this movie would have been dumped cleanly. Joaquin acting is okay but irritates after a while. His acting would make us feel drowsy. But he did a fine job too which is what expected from him. But frankly , there is nothing in the movie , script is not the best , BGM serves nothing , there is no picturization or visual tech needed or actually there is nothing. I just felt watching a normal TV series and as if felt it ended. There is nothing to complain or appreciate. This is just a movie thats all..Nothing to take or nothing to get. Need real patience to complete this movie without a fast forward button. If you can , you are really great. Not all would like it. See it if it fits your taste.
