The Place Beyond the Pines
Expected a fiery action film from the charming Ryan Gosling with his different body language and his cool rude boy tattoo's in this film , but turns out to be a perfect drama of Love , sacrifice and redemption. First half was real good as it goes under the shadow of ryan as Luke who is a motorcycle racer forced to rob banks inorder to care his new born son with all the needs. But i never ever expected that he would face the end in hands of a police officer Bradly cooper during a bank robbery encounter. Shootout was not actually needed , but jack did fire rounds at ryan killing him instantly which was a felony that he cannot shoot a victim unless they try to attack back. But he hides this fact and becomes a hero of that district , gets many awards and accolades from everyone. Deep inside , Jack knows what he did was wrong killing a innocent for nothing and starts to feel guilt , suffers for his action. Rest of movie is how he tries to make up the wrong doing by helping ryans family and how he rise to a district attorney position from a cop was beautifully made. Only thing is the director has left a good portion of it uncompleted for its sequel which involves ryans Son who runs out of house to live life on his own. So might be we are in to part 2 of it soon.....!!!
Too much of a lengthy drama and dragging at times , but sure its not bad at all. Very nice movie and screenplay flows along well. Ryan acting was cool and perfect , but never miss to mention the stunning performance of Bradly cooper. He is the one who carries rest of the movie when Ryan is no more . Not a visually stunning movie but this is worth a watch for Crime drama movie liker . You got to have real patience to watch it entirely its worth it, but if you download this thinking a action movie....better stay away from it as you would be so much disappointed later.IMO i liked this movie a lot and worth one time watch. Sure i would be one queued up to watch the sequel part of it.
