This movie is about the survival of a family during massive earthquake occurred in Tangshan China in year 1976 costing lives of millions of people during this massive tragedy. I must admit that this is a shere brilliance of work in making and its real Jaw dropping watching the scenes of earthquake captured so realistically. We mostly seen earthquake news in papers and media but by watching this film , you would feel as if you were in that right spot during the disaster. Never take it wrong that this movie is only about the earthquake , it is not..this is a beautiful melodrama about survival of a family consist of couples Da Qiang a taxi driver and his wife yuan survived by two cute kids Fang da and fang deng. This disaster took life of Da qiang leaving his wife and kids struggling. How they get separated during to the earthquake and their reunion covers the rest of the movie.
This is really a feel good movie , scripted so perfectly step by step. I liked every minute of it , what a performance by everyone in the movie. Be it love , sacrifice , decision , struggle and strong will , this movie has it all. BGM was really amazing and it just blended perfectly with the stunning visuals this movie had. Though it starts with a earthquake , it crunches our heart at the end and with that of a beautiful family union at last leaves all the viewers go out with a satisfied smile. This would stay as my fav movie for sure and if you watched Iranian movies like Children of heaven , song of sparrows and french movie incendies sure you would like this movie a lot. This movie is real stunner and it would stay in my best archives for ever. WoW what a experience watching this gem of a movie ** Do not miss it watching **
