With Ups and Downs at every episode , there was always a doubt about how the grand finale would end but i must say its surprisingly stunning . Unlike any other series , this one travels in its own pace and it will always be a maze for a normal audience to understand n decode this series . A very unique way of story telling and mind blowing performance from oscar winner Matthew McConaughey as Detective Rust Cohle keeps this series at peak. It was really good to see a worthy ending as dust settles up between Woody Harrelson Detective Marty Hart and Rust. Finishing was definitely scary , location choice was damn awesome and suspense element was engaging and very gripping. Dark consuming the light...wow....
Below images does open up so many unanswered questions and i guess they leave that to the viewers to decide on their believes on Occultism and Marsh Rituals. Though i still feel that the ritualistic serial killing and its reason behind it was not clearly explained and felt a rush towards the end. Even when rust talks about his daughter there is a insights on after life and thoughts. So for sure true detective has more meaning to it to be explored then be just a thriller series. This is sure for not entire audience as only few people who have enough patience to go through it might like this series and yes with this we will be missing one of finest seasons as Matthew confirmed he wont be appearing on season 2 which is mostly planned to be aired on 2015.
