Peaky Blinders (2013)
Some best series go unnoticed until someone introduce to others and this TV series is one such perfect example. I just saw a post recently on this series and yes only one post on it and i started watching this and i must say this became one of memorable moment for me. Right from the start , this series catches your attention completely with the kind of backdrop this series happens. This takes you back to those old days of London during year 1919 and i must say the maker had really brought that close to reality on the screen.
A perfect neo-noir feel with the kind of color tone used and the way the streets of London setup around BSA Company was just mind blowing and Cinematography is top notch for sure. Adding to that the cast selected for it was more good then ever , its about Shelby Family and how they control neighborhood with fear and iron fist until a inspector general was send to London to tackle this gangster family to bring them down and at same time to accomplish a secret mission as ordered by Winston Churchill himself. So this series is all about the Rise of Shelby family and how they tackle all the hurdles come in their way with their own style forms the story. Cillian as Thomas Shelby did his role perfectly fine as head of Shelby family and his betting operation in Horse race. Sam Neill plays as Inspector general and does it at ease with equally good performance . It was nice to see Sam after a long time after Jurassic Park.
First Season has only six episode and every single episode is very engaging. Though the ending of season 1 could have been little better but yes as its closely inspired from real events , we cant expect too much dramatic moments there. The slow motion shots every now and then like Shelby wearing their unique hat , like they walk together for a war or when Thomas prepares for a fight it was all cool equally supported by a wonderful oldish Background theme. I am sure those who liked hat-fields and McCoy will also love this series for sure. This is highly recommended for visuals and cinematography work and a series not to be missed. Now i will move to second season shortly.
