Movie : Maalai Pozhuthin Mayakathiley ( 2012 )

Genre : Romance | Drama

Our Rating : 6.5/10

The starting scenes shows how the sentiments & astrology play a important part and create an impact in an Asst. directors’ life. Let’s leave that alone. The movie fully revolves in a coffee day. I think the director of the movie loves coffee shop or he got the movie theme in a coffee shop. Only he knows.
Coming back to the story, the movie revolves around three main stories, and two sub stories whom are there in the coffee shop. First and mainly Hero and Heroine track, then a family, and the coffee shop owner. Coming to the hero and heroine, hero is in trouble and he wants to repay an amount of 3 lakh in a short time which he spends on taking a promo song. He runs to hide and got in to coffee shop where he sees the heroine. Heroine is one of a person who does not believe in Love and Hero is a kind of person who believes in love at first sight. So, as you all know he falls in love with heroine. During a conversation, he founds that it was her birthday. So, he arranges for a cake and celebrates her birthday with all the people in the café. He tries to gain the attention of Heroine and somehow got succeeded in it.

The second story is the couple, whose was a love marriage. Somehow their married life was not going smooth. Her complaint is he is not giving attention and does not love her so much. His complaint is why she is always fighting with him for silly/useless reasons. The coffee shop owner played a role of counselor in this part. His logic is somehow agreeable. “When we forgive us for all the mistakes that we do to others, then why we are not forgiving others for their mistakes”.

The third story is about the coffee shop owner. Since the business was not up to the expectation (no business at all) he is in need of money to run the business and all the places where he asked for loan got rejected. So, he was in a dilemma of how to run the business.

The first sub story is about a writer, who does not even open a WinWord in his computer. All he does is just right click and do refresh. (That’s what they show).

The second sub story is about the two staffs in coffee shop. They are the relaxation point in this movie. One guy is working there just to impress the girls coming to the coffee shop and the other is working there for his bread and butter. I liked one the dialogue between them. “When life is not taking us serious, why we want to take the life as serious?”

When the story was going bit smooth, there comes a person who helps the hero to propose (indirectly) to heroine. Once he left, heroine blasts (in words) hero and leaves the coffee shop. But while she moves out, she feels that she is missing something and feels something different. So, that’s the end of the story. See the remaining in theatre.

My Fav dialogue between hero (M) and heroine (F):

F: you are hitting on me? Five minutes, five minutes I should not speak to you frankly? Love? Marriage? You guys can never think straight right? I never knew you are also one of them?
M: Ponnugala sight adicha thaanga paiyan. Adikka venamnnu neenga sollalam, aana nadakuthey. Neenga thittunga, thittunga. My verdict: you can watch it once, when you are going to a theatre with a blank mind.

FAM Punch Line : you can watch it once, when you are going to a theatre with a blank mind and no expectation.Just relax and enzoi
