 Movie : Naan ( 2012 )

Genre : Thriller | Crime

Our Rating : 7.5/10

Naan Directed by Jeeva Shankar starring Vijay Antony and Vibha Natarajan. Went to the movie with no expectation and came out as a Fully satisfied viewer. My goodness me , what a transformation by Vijay Antony ( VA ) from a Pepi Styled Music Director to a perfect actor. Damn bloody performance by him.

Movie is definitely a excellent crime thriller . Story is simple , clear and common. Its about a Boy who is remanded in Juvenile Detention Hall for murdering his mother after he gets to know his mother affair with another man in the same village.. Later he gets released on his 20's , decides to travel to chennai from ramanathapuram in search of a job. While en-route to Chennai ,the bus he is traveling meets up with a accident and VA survives this horrific incident. But the co-passenger sitting besides him is not so lucky meets a tragic end. VA since has no further plans for his life none to help or no where to go , decides to take up the identity of the Dead co-passenger who was actually traveling to chennai to attend medical college counseling. How he fakes up the degree certs , How he joins the medical college and later the trouble he goes through for claiming this fake identity is all the story about

What to Take :-

1) Awesome acting by Vijay antony. He definitely did his best for being a music director and a lead role is new to him
2) Songs are so good , especially makkayala and Thappellam thappey illa is awesome..Vibha Natarajan looks so cool .
3) BGM for the entire movie is derived from song Thappellam thappey illai is so rocking and fits to the movie perfectly.
4) Dialogue delivery and screenplay was excellent .
5) A simple scene in a bar when his fake father blackmail him for money is pure class
6) The twists in the movie is so cool and no untidy work throughout the movie. Hardly no logic mistakes noticed .
7) There were some scenes in second half which leaves you thrilled and scared as if you are watching a horror movie.
8) Director leaves climax with a unclosed end which could probably be a start point for its Sequel.
9) Overall a very good direction by Jeeva Shakar.

FAM Punch Line : Same old masala movie but in a different look and taste. Its more then a thriller movie. Am sure you would also be one who would appreciate VA' s performance and Jeeva direction after watching it.
