Night Train to Lisbon ( 2013 )
Been keeping it pending for a long time to watch this movie as i always knew this movie needs real patience to see it but i must say it worth it that wait. This movie is about one man's journey in search for an answer . This all happens when he saves a Portuguese woman while she was tying to commit suicide. During their brief encounter she forgets her overcoat with a tiny little book in her pocket. The man who saved her is a professor at Swizz college who is reserved , divorced past 5 years , lone survivor and somehow he wouldn't have realized that this meeting with this unknown women would change his entire life.
While he reads through few pages of that book , he starts to realize that its one mans grief in form of words with a melancholic past filled with sadness and as if every golden word written there had a huge hidden past behind it with more pain to bare . Professor somehow becomes so obsessed with this book gets hooked to it so much that he starts to find the answers he wanted to his despaired life , While reading through the pages he find's a Train ticket to Lisbon which was kept safe inside the pages of that book and that changes everything when he decides to travel to Lisbon using that ticket in search for that unknown women and at same time to know more about the book , the persons involved in it especially Amadeu author of that book . Rest of the movie explores his travel to Lisbon to understand the past by meeting with different people to uncover the mystery behind the book and finally falling in love with a women which we never expected too...giving a happy ending to the story.
Though this movie had a good plot somehow the duration of the movie felt too lengthy or felt awkward as if is Amadeu really that famous person to know his past. We might start to feel at one point to find reasons for seeing this movie to understand one man's life who has really done nothing to get this kind of attention because this movie might travel as if its a biographical plot in a narrative style. Keeping that aside , this is a slow'n'steady movie and one must really have enough stamina to watch its entire course which might test your patience and tiring . But this movie will give a different kind of experience for sure post watching it and deserves one time watch only. Not many might live this and its just one another average Drama movie to the archives.
