" Fear Creates monsters, Monsters Create Nightmares, Nightmare Creates Fear..!!! Goes in loop "
Can a short film be this crip forcing it to stay in you for ever. This is just one of those unique masterpiece we would ever come across.This movie was inspired from lucid Dreams of monsters , depicting those nightmare's of this great director Guillermo del Toro's during his Childhood . Shhh... is a dark fantasy film about a young kid named Guillermo , motherless who died due to cancer living with his father and his ever bullying sister Helena. Unlike all other kids , our protagonist doesn't have a normal happy life and his nights were scary as hell filled with horror. Adding to the torture he takes from his sister who is obsessed with her hair who doesn't have time to care ,it just gets uglier When at dawn this kid also has to face his fear , while his monster awakes every-night when he has to step into bathroom to take a pee. Danger is near and this dear kid doesn't have anyone to share , the pain is more then he could bare. What does that monster wants , how our kid keeps himself away from danger and how he manages to overcome is fear forms rest of the story.
Simple and beautiful , gives a fairy tale touch pleases everyone with the way the fear was captured, sure this film is a real stunner. Not just that it also portrays the emotions , pain that kid has to go through when alone who is bullied by her own sister . This film also supports Anti-Bullying Awareness ( pinkshirtday.ca ) for the same reason. The real monster is ones fear and dreams are the place these fears manipulate itself as its working factory. As we all know GDT's obsession towards Monsters and fantasy subject. This Film gives a clue from where it could have been all started . Though GDT might have gone through sleepless nights during his childhood may be now we realize that these incidents could have been his secret for becoming such a creative director with unique set of skills and with his ability to handle fantasy subjects in a very unique way. His imaginations run deep within , were he could visualize , create n bring such a monsters , superhero characters to his films. I am sure GDT will be always a godfather for Fantasy and horror movies in lines of all other great legends out there.
In just a 11 min video , i am sure the directors captured hearts of many audience. This is such a intense , capturing , engaging and entertaining short film and no wonder why awards are flowing in to this wonder. As they say out there , this does have Strong visuals and Solid atmosphere..!!! If you haven't watched this short film yet , i would urge you to do so...This will ever remain in my favorite list. You beauty.
A little transcript from this film , which gives us a fairy tale feel and the narrator voice was so good made us feel as if listening to our bedtime stories during our childhood days. Thanks to the makers and the creators.

Award-wining visual and makeup effects artists Freddy Chavez Olmos and Shervin Shoghian are co-directing and produced their first independent short film: Shhh. Over the years they have worked their artistic magic on top films like: Tron Legacy, District 9, Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Oscar-winning Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, with Shervin winning the 2009 Visual Effects Society (VES) Award for Best VFX Compositing for the feature film District 9.
