Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity ( 2013 ) - " Visually Stunning Lengthy Documentary "
I must admit that this is one hell of a visual treat watching in a High Dev Silver Screen. Really stunned by the visual and hats off to Alfonso Cuarón for pulling out such a daring film with so many breathtaking scenes. But yaa , movie is just not about Visuals alone , should be more to it , even if it is... i could take Kubricks 2001 : ASO movie where he was able to pull out such a beautiful visually stunning movie on 60's itself where there was no advancement of technology available. But if Alfonso Cuarón planned to attract the audience and convince them with just visuals alone , i am sorry that this is no greater then a normal Documentary Film and he failed in that department for sure. Actually the main characters or say only two characters on the entire movie is Sandra Bullock and GC. Actually there was nothing depth given to these characters at all and George was more of a guest role in this film as there is no actual story in this movie except in a one liner, Return to Earth after disaster in Outer-space. There was not much 3D Format used for this movie though there was lot of opportunity for it. I missed to watch this movie in a IMAX theater where i might feel a lot for this film but i would never admit this as a full length movie as through its entire run..i only felt this as a IMAX documentary film which is already released long back like IMAX Hubble 2010 ,IMAX.Space.Junk 2012 , IMAX Destiny In Space 1994 , IMAX Space Station 2002 . Yes , the opening scene and the climax break in earth atmosphere scenes were really awesome and felt as if watching a movie in Planetarium . I also wish that this movie if seen on a Full Doom IMAX with a full-dome slide projector would be Jaw dropping. BGM was good but not catchy and movie run-time is very short. Either-ways,this movie is worth a watch definitely for virtual treat alone , nothing more..nothing less.
