No wonder why The Lives of Others won 2006 Academy Award for Best
Foreign Language Film. What a experience it was watching this beautiful
thriller cum drama. Such a beautifully scripted movie starts of so slow
but gradually gets intense as it progresses. Its all about surveillance
and how a Dramatist Georg Dreyman along with his wife Christa maria are
been monitored after State security secret agents bugged their house
entirely to watch every move.But one secret agent while running
surveillance gets emotionally connected with these couple lifes and
instead of reporting the strange incidents he starts to hide them
in-order to save the couple. But will Wiesler Succeed in keeping them
out of danger form basis of this movie . Whatever be it , the way that
human emotions are portrayed here was very touchy and especially at the
end when a book was published with dedication to Wiesler was so heart
wrenching. This is a slow running movie but worth every second but if
you are expecting to watch a high speed adrenaline thriller then this
might be a bad choice. For me i personally enjoyed it and any world
cinema liker should not miss it.
