Irandham Ulagam - " Love beyond Boundaries "

A Product from a daring film maker who becomes a meal on dinner table of many critics just for one reason that he steps out of his comfort zone to bring movies in a newer dimension never ever presented to audience before. But that doesnt stop him from making one. Irandham Ulagam ( IU ) is one such experimental film never ever tried before in kollywood , a genre which could be very new to majority of the audience who are never exposed to hollywood movies and for ones who are not aware of a genre called Fantasy. But every start needs a push , a beginning and none would want to step up to do that but Selva did. If lucia is appreciated for first ever mind bending movie ever made in Indian cinema , then it means Selva deserves a same applause too for introducing such a genre to hard core movie loving people belonging to kollywood. Okay lets get down to the movie part.....!!!

Me Not much interested to put in a spoiler by revealing the plot but in short this movie talks about Love story across parallel universe and both story belongs to the core cast Aarya and Anushkha . How their life cross over at one stage when they happen to travel to the other world ( Kind of warm hole ) concept and how love unites them all together forms the core part of the story. Well you would have heard parallel universe , Dual world , time travel , warm hole etc..and we think this always belong to Hollywood , but selva just proved it wrong. If they can make a movie like Upside Down , we made a same romantic fantasy film like Irandham Ulagam. What makes this movie so unique and pleasant is its visuals , from movie start till finish it was damn brilliant . The yellow tone for outer world and blue tone for the real world earth ,then the sky , the planets , flowers , lake , plateau , snow wow..that was dazzling and stunning. Every frame was mind blowing well supported by one hell of a stunning Background score by Anirudh. Yes , that was a best trumph card Selva used. If it was not of anirudh , this movie wouldnt have been this good , lucky to drop Harris J which was the best thing to happen for this movie. Every Visual and BGM just stays in our heart , Felt like a journey though space or a experience listening to Nanny's Bedtime stories . That was pure fun , it had that trademark of Selva's Touch at every frame of this movie. Cinematography is top notch and hats off to the team who put this together , it was meticulously done .




But never would miss to mention CG VFX works throughout the film. I really had a doubt if Selva could pull a best CG works with the budget he has and that he wants to make a fantasy movie like Hollywood , but not sure how , he did pull this up perfectly fine. At first scene when Anushka fights a dog like creature , seeing the grahic work i too felt like yack....!!! but as the movie ran through its course , i really started to get goosebumps and was really stunned by the way CG works are made to perfection. The monster at the mid intermission the Lion was one hell of a creation , even the great director like GDT would want to copy that to his movie. That fight sequence was too good provided it had a stunner BGM with it. I dont say it was 100% CG work like avatar..but it had the best we seen in recent times . One has to be really daring so much to try such a work when most of it involves CG and visuals but he won finally. I was really afraid if this will end up like Ramanarayanan sir film but lucky it didnt. There is a scene i shouldnt miss to mention , when aarya goes to top of a Mountain ( saami malai ) where the gods open a Time travel Portal kind of Warm hole, that particular scene , that mountain , the gods statue that entire CG works for that scene was shear brilliance. I liked that so much .



Well taking about the characterization, this movie didnt had so many character inclusions to it but the leads are always Aarya and Anushkha. Though at times seeing lipstick on aarya lips irritates me but yet most part of the movie he really performed well. The character of aarya varies between two different world one a strong built warrior and other a simple lean polite person. The way he managed both these characters was just awesome , he even toned up his body to look like a warrior which was good. Anushka was a charm , she was beautiful loving caring at one world and a angry , aggressive fighter on the other.She too played her role excellently . The chemistry between the two in real world was so good , the love proposal and the pain they get when they walk away ,the song En kaadhal Thee with visual , the scenes following it were so cool and beautiful. Its just anirudh everywhere...i am sure this film success will go to his contribution as the BGM were so divine and beautiful . Even at second half when Aaarya show anushka picture when they are in forest under heavy snow , that scene was captured so wonderfully well. This movie is a complete feeler , one must just enjoy it but not to think too much into it. This is not one movie were you go watch for story but instead a movie to be experienced , to be felt , touched. Though the scope of Script could have been packed with more punch but that would have spoiled the fantasy element it had and the feel of love it gives. The fight scenes were really good , though this movie didnot had too much lengthy stunt scenes to it , but yet even the smallest ones were all completely satisfying. The climax fight with a big hammer was damn good and was made to look powerful yet natural too.. Good job done by the stunt master and yes the key brain behind all..SelvaR.



Normally a romance subject on a fantasy film does give us a feel of dragging , because unlike hollywood this is a kollyoood which needs some scenes to be placed on purpose to show the love , fun and life people have so no wonder why people might feel the second half felt like slow or dragging but nevertheless it was not. It was rather in that way they intend to show. Moreover the first half script showing Anushkha and Aaarya love was really touching , went on with a steady phase but suddenly the movie completely twists itself and takes us to the other world were things are not normal like in earth , for sure they will feel different at second half. And more importantly Selva did-not use our Indian people for complete second half characterization in the other world which was purposefully done to prevent audience feeling the alternate world too normal giving a locale feel and that really helped to differentiate the parallel stories this movie had. Yes this being something very new to kollywood audience , chances it might give a different feel to it and some even might not like it too. This very common with anyone that when something served new , we tend to take time to get accustomed to it . Takes time but we got to evolve.

Overall this is one of a very genuine daring attempt by Selva. This is very unique to our industry and if we cant appreciate the effort he took atleast we can avoid humiliating him for the work he did for this and the contribution he did to the Film Industry. Its very rare to see film makers think outside the box and when they do its us who got to pat on their back , so they can provide much better results on upcoming films. But that said , this movie is one worthy entertainer , a very feel good movie , a simple fantasy subject like a life in dreams which just needs to be experienced. Keep your critic brain out before stepping into the theatre , stop doing post mortem of the movie and rather start to feel the wonder it gives by looking at the brighter side . This is really a nice beginning and really hats off to Director SelvaR for standing up to his word and proving it. This is just a whole new beginning. A must watch , a concept never tried before in indian cinema. Dont miss it . Rating : 4/5 .

Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai Dobara ( 2013 )
With a Powerful cast like Akshay Kumar as Shoaib Khan , Sonakshi Sinha ( Jasmine ) and Imran Khan ( aslam ) we can be sure that we are in for a treat. Movie takes of like a neo noir film with Akshay as a underworld Don and how he mentor Imran khan under his wing as a trusted leutinent and how their life get tangled in a love triangle when Ashkay also falls in love with Jasmine without being aware of her love towards Imran. With such a powerful person and a don Shoaib his , and a person who gets what he desire comes to a point whether to get jasmine for himself or to leave way to his protege Aslam forms rest of the story. 





Its always akshay acting which remains outstanding and definitely he perfected his acting as a don or a gangster though he imitated himself as D Company boss. His dialogue delivery at some places were so powerful which makes him a dreadful don at same time a playboy. Sonakshi sinha fills in as a entertainer and does her job well. But on a contrary some dialogues in this movie just irritates us a bit and too much to digest.In mid of the movie , it just easily looses its phase and feels like dragged undauntedly. Imran also done his character role well but he still couldn't fit perfect for a gangster role. This is more of a romance and love film then a gangsta film may be a reason it loses its essence combining two different genre mixed up so wrongly. Adding to that is again a very dramatic climax same like many other movies in history but being that said this is not a bad movie at all. Can be definitely watched once for Akshay negative role and his acting and at same time to watch Dazzling sonakshi on screen. Imran khan was a nice filler to the movie and he tried his best. Overall this movie is one another regular romance gangsta drama which will entertain us at parts.

The World's End (2013)

Thought it could be more hilarious and fun movie with Simon Pegg , Nick frost and our watson Martin freeman on it but turned out to be other way...!! Movie is more irrational though started off well it lost its direction in the middle when all things happening around them and yet they go through their plan with golden mile. Felt like yet another sick zombie movie but only difference they are replaced by robots. Even at last finishing was very awkward and doesnt fit much to this film. With such a powerful cast like Pierce Brosnan , Morgan freeman this could have easily been a excellent movie but ended up to waste. Anyways just another popcorn movie to watch if there is no other movies in pending list. 
 

Insidious 2 - " Black widow doesn't sound scary at all nomore "

As we all know thats its prequel was one of scariest movies ever made by James Wan and got critically acclaimed by everyone and for no minute one would step into the theater with no lesser expectation on it. But unfortunately Insidious 2 is a total let down and as there is nothing much to the script has director picks up from where he is left in previous version only change this time the boy goes in search of his father to bring back his soul. The problem here was there is no much gripping screenplay to the script , though they tried to make the scenes be mind bending but still they failed to keep the surprise element to it. People used to get fear in their spine seeing insidious first part but in this movie part 2 people were laughing at most part of the movie that too in a ATMOS theater as if they are watching a comedy movie. At times some closeup shots were really scary but they were countable in numbers only handful and apart from that its was a total letdown. The paranormal investigators character in this movie add up to the comedy part ....bad idea ..!! And there were scenes shot at motion camera or a hand held camera which was pathetic. There is really nothing twist to the climax and yes James wan leaves his option open for Part III which now i am not sure if it would be a good thing to do or not.I feel this is just another normal horror film out there and doesnt stand out of the odds but can be watched once for James Wan and nothing else. Feeling bad that the much awaited movie disappointed me but yaa this is not first time some sequels do that too us. So this leaves Insidious Part 1 to be unbeaten champion now and i would say its a Average movie with rating of 2.5/5 .

After a disappointing Series of superheros kind like HEROES i didnt wanted to try superhero TV series for quit sometime , but lately there been so many talks about this series and i decided to watch. In just a week completed a long saga of episodes in Season 01 almost 23ep and in Season02 there were 05ep till date .Starting with cons...

Cons
Unfortunately there are so many logic skips even we would stop counting on after a while. Sometimes it might give you that ackward feel too to know what the heck is happening out there. And more over Arrow doesnt wear a mask but strangle that he manages to keep his identify from people easily even when people talk to him so close. Yes he switches of lights in room , he moves in dark but there are so many times he does talk to people face to face and yet none would knew it is Oliver which is very strange. The costume could be more better and when he is ready to invest so much for gadgets , he should consider using a better costume which even superman had switched to a newer gear. First eight episodes will be a epitome of logic mistakes and will drag you a bit but it would slowly starts its phase later on. Oliver keeps on telling more then thousand times " life back in the woods " & " you know what i went through in the woods " which gets to irritating point after a while. Happy that at end of Seaon02 Ep05 he decided to finally talk and share instead of those above irritating quotes. After-all we cant blame such a longest season has few flaws under a ignorable proportion.

Pros
Unlike any-other superhero movies , this Arrow does have something in it to keep you entertained all through these episodes. Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen (a) Green Arrow was just stunning superb with his mind blowing performance. The way he takes up his character and delivers a kick-ass performance was just osm. The team he assembles on the run John Diggle , Felicity , Sara , Roy were all stunning and he initially starts as a single warrior and now he has a big bunch of team fighting for the good for starling city. I also liked Oliver friend Tommy and Detective Quentin characters in this series. First season he had a definite plan and second season , its kind of lost but he shapes up like a batman for Gotham city. Arrow is just going to fight anything bad in Starling city. He is getting new team , new gadgets and yaa off-course new girlfriends too which changes every episode fortunately :) . Every episode brings a new feel were arrow takes out a new entity in starling city and the way he manages as a billionaire Son of queen family at same time as Vigilante which is what keeps every viewer like us going.

Verdict :
What makes this series more interesting is that they dont tend to spoil the phase of the series by just running few episodes on flash backs of arrow uprising in hoods , but instead they try to mix it slowly with every single episode which doesn't overdose us and also keeps us bit more engaged to know what happened on hood to Oliver. Every episode the transformation of oliver to green arrow is damn good and felicity she just can hack into any database as per her will. The phase of the series was really well maintained and visuals were all stunning especially the shots taken in Hoods.This is no less than Batman begins or dark knight that if you loved Batman then sure you would love green arrow. There is no superpower anyone process and every stunts performed were humanly possible as was shown realistically and may be same reason why many would love this series. I am not sure how it would go from here on but as with the episodes till date was worth watching and i would recommend this to any TV series liker. Don't miss it.

A nice Sci-fi movie with same drones , guns we been seeing in many star war prequels. Nothing new of that short. Felt like watching a mix of movies like Skyline , Battleship , Battle Los angles , halo and darkest hour. Especially the climax when our Cruise goes up to visit the command center Tet which is in outer-space , felt nothing different from watching Independence day. At-least there could have been new gadgets and gizmos , but movie failed to deliver that adding to that there were even no aliens in this movie..those laser guns felt like playing some Star troopers video game. More to that the worst draggy screenplay , very slow in nature easily can test your patience level..Movie script was twisted so much thinking of making a mind bending movie but was a big spoiler as it directly let down the total screenplay of the movie. But cinematography was good and some part of the movie was virtually good but not too impressive.Tom cruise as always did his part well but yaa we seen enough of minority report , war of the world and this saga still continuous. Very worst ending in name of patriotism but unfortunately it didn't give that feel at all as by that time we would be just waiting for this movie to end . If you are a sci-fi movie liker and a fan of tom cruise n that you don't have any other good movies to watch, then give it a shot. Else can be safely ignored.

Things We Lost in the Fire ( 2007 )

A wonderful feel good movie it is...!! A pleasant watching experience.The lead role is none other then our Che Movie fame Benicio Del Toro ( as Jerry ) pairing with Halle Berry ( Audrey ) . Movie is about Friendship between David Duchovny ( Brian ) and Benicio Del Toro ( Berry ) and how berry takes care of his friends family after he was murdered on a road side brawl while trying to save a innocent women's life. Berry is a heroin addict and he is a childhood friend to Brian , the scenes showing up the friendship and how they care each other was touchy. How berry recovers from his heroin addiction and starts to support his friends family consisting of audrey and two cure children forms rest of the story.The pain berry go through post her husband loss and how berry helps her get through it is heart touching. Movie is quiet a calm drama of love , care and friendship. Scenes where berry cares for the children were wonderfully made.Though the ending felt abrupt still this is one such finest movies made and not to be missed. A must try but have patience to watch through.

Thala's Aarambham - "A very usual base topped with Thala's Extravaganza....."

No different from other movies , arrambham did get a huge block buster opening and this time i feel it was massive. As always watching movies of big star on first day show is a unique feel one should never miss. I enjoyed the experience. Let me go straight to how the movie is starting with Cons...

1) A worst storyline or say a very regular or usual story line noting much impressive
2) No gripping screenplay. Total let down and lot of disconnected shots may be editing was not upto the mark
3) Aaraya a bad choice or a choice didnt justify much to his character and more over working on MS DOS doesnt make him a hacker
4) So many loop holes or logic skips everywhere throughtout the movie but since its a big star movie unfortunately got to swallow the hard pill
5) Nayantara , a fairy angel not fair enough
6) Thala dance steps was not as good as it was in mankantha
7) Yuvan was a huge let down , nothing impressive in BGM
8 ) The selecting of cast is horrible and Tamizhachi song that girl was too horrible.
9) Hare Rama song missing from the movie , so sad
10) Normally in thala movies dialogues will be always remembered , but in this they didnt impress much especially " Make it simple " was too simple . I guess director really made this movie too simple forgetting that he is working for a big star.
11) Rana was not properly used and his character should have been given more scope.

13) First half aarya unwanted lengthy flash back could have been avioded but it was okay
14) Tapase last news reading was funny and crap sloppy tooo

1) As always thala means mass , he always deleivers that energy in every film . None can beat him up in that
2) We can see the difference in his body tone up with first half and flash back second half. He did worked hard on his looked damn awesome
3) His body language improved so much and its just astonishing to see him change with every film.
4) Camera work was awesome and visuals were too good. Every frame ajith would easily capture our attention. Teri mass.
5) Though the script didnot support him much , ajith led entire movie in his shoulder.
6) Good song tracks as we know they already released some time back but some songs visuals were good.
7) Its thala thala and thala everywhere...!!
8 ) There are scenes like ducati bike drive and a scene when police try to arrest him holding his hand were all OSM and gave goosebumps but unfortunately not many memorable scenes were there.
9) Kishore role though was short but was good.

Verdict

Movie was missing that extra punch and spice needed for a revenge movie plot. Lot of unwanted shots could have been cut down and more importance could have been given to the script and screenplay. But mistakes apart , this is no bad movie at all. Though it had a regular storyline still this movie was definitely worth watching one and especially Thala fans would love watching this movie because its all and all ajiths fare. This would definitely cover the larger audience of mass fans and no doubt it will be a blockbuster hit of the season. But if you ask me about normal movie goers this is just one other film worth spending money for this diwali and is definetly a one time watch. The last climax did deliver some message some political liner but was not too loud n clear. If we take mankatha movie has a bench mark , aarambham would score only 50% from it. Yet this is one movie never to be missed and if you like Thala ajith movies and if you wanna see him yet again on a cameo role with a salt'n'pepper look then this is for you. Dont miss it . This is sure a thala deepavali (**at-least for his fans ). A good commercial flick worth a try.

Lucia - Real Stunner , First ever Mind bending movie in the History of 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

I feel its just the lack of Opportunity and support. This Movie Lucia is just one finest example proving that wrong...!! You dont need crores to bring a best movie , all it needs is your skills and passion towards it. !!! This movie will serve as a eye opener for many upcoming film makers and also for experienced film makers. First movie impressed me in kannada industry was Mungaru Male and now Lucia will be my favorite collection. Waiting for original DVD so i will buy that way i will contribute to these creators who did their dream project about the dreams.

Extraordinary performance by these young cast Sathish Neenasam ( Nikhil ) and Sruthi Hariharan ( Shwetha ). This movie is a pure example that in hands of a good director even a iron core can be casted to diamonds.Every heart always got some wishes it desires for but never received. What if a source presents itself with a promise to give you that and how easily one would be tempted to try it without even giving any second thougts about the consiquences forms core to this story. A man suffering from insomnia takes a magic drug pills called Lucia which has a power to induce sleep and at same time generate Lucid dreams , a term of never ending addictive dreams makes one feel close to reality. How this man Nikhil lives upto both these worlds fullfilling his desires in his dream world and at same time how it escalates to a stage where it almost costs his life completes this story behind Lucia.

You might ask , if this is the story then what is so special about lucia. Well, story might sound simple but how director toggles those frames from real world to the imaginary dream world and how he makes us to sit tight at the edge of the seat till movie finishes is what makes it so special about this movie. More over these kind of plot was never ever tried before in indian ciema before as there are so many movie buffs who love mind bending movies and for the same reason great director like Nolan or Lynch have so many followers. But making a movie is not important , but how well you wrap it and present it is all what matters and Director Pawan kumar proved himself he is no short of great directors here. Normally mind mending movie would sometime cause nausea because too much of consolidation or too much blending of characters would result to it , so one has to really be cautious that the mixup of multiple stories doesnt pollute the script. In this regards , lucia is a genuine attempt as it doesnt really confuse us too much though at some point or at most we really be not knowing what is real or dream anymore but by the time this movie finishes , it unties most of the knots and delivers the basic message what this movie intented to press on giving us a sigh of releif.

Though that said, last 10 minutes the whole plot conspires itself giving the choice to the viewers to guess themself what is real and what is not and chose their own ending for themself. No wonder this is a touch of Nolan and may be for same reason apart from the dreams subject , this film lucia been compared to Inception by many. But i will really be not the one who will compare these two movies on a same scale because they both are unique and best at their own levels. This film Lucia will be one of finest cinemas ever made.A salute to the team involved. I feel this is just the beginning.

Lucia , an immortal movie going to live through time and space , a never ending dream of indian cinema and a kickstart into a different genre of films first ever brought into indian cinema. Lucia is Kannada's first crowd-funded film. When Pawan Kumar decided to try the Crowd Funding route, he set a duration of 100 days in which he hoped to raise 51 Lakh INR. The amount was raised in just 27 days. The entire film has been shot in digital format on Canon 5D and GoPro.When Nikki is brought to the tent with the promise of treating his insomnia, A TV screen shows images of Christopher Nolan's debut movie, Following. Baag Milkha Baag ( 2013 ) :-

Damn good Biopic , what a inspiring film it has been. I am sure there is no better way our Indian film fraternity could hail this man , a hero of nation Mr.Milkha Singh (a) Flying Sikh. Movie had 3hr run-time but never one minute felt that time passing by , such a pleasant and beautiful movie it is. Farhan Akhtar was really dazzling with his performance in this movie , what a justification he did to his role , just amazing. Especially the last 30min he really toned down his body so much for this movie to show his hard training exercise, a rigid workout towards his runs , that's how committed he was to this film. I am sure the real Milkha Singh himself would have been proud of Farhan performance for portraying his character. And special mention to the damn inspiring BGM and every time Milkha runs , our heart stops but with only thing going on is the BGM on our ears giving goosebumps all over. Some shots were perfectly captured and was visually stunning.Hats off to



Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for coming forward to choose these biographical subjects as there are so many national hero's whose name just faded in time unnoticed and it becomes one of responsibility of film makers to bring them to light. Bhaag Milka Bhaag is one of finest Inspirational Sports film in recent times and these are movies which are never to be missed.

The Flying Sikh, is a former Indian track and field sprinter who was introduced to the sport while serving in the Indian Army. As of 2013, he is the only Indian male athlete to win an individual athletics gold medal at a Commonwealth Games. He represented India in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour, in recognition of his sporting achievements.




Milkha Singh had been promoted from the rank of sepoy to junior commissioned officer in recognition of his successes in the 1958 Asian Games. He subsequently became Director of Sports in the Punjab Ministry of Education, from which post he had retired by 1998. Singh had been awarded the Padma Shri following his success in 1958. In 2001, he turned down an offer of the Arjuna Award from the Indian government, arguing that it was intended to recognize young sportspeople and not those such as him. He also thought that the Award was being inappropriately given to people who had little notable involvement as active sports people at all. He said that "I have been clubbed with sportspersons who are nowhere near the level that I had achieved" and that the award had become devalued . All of Singh's medals have been donated to the nation. They were displayed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi but later moved to a sports museum in Patiala,where a pair of running shoes that he wore in Rome are also displayed. BHAI ( 2013 ) : " History doesn't teach him anything "

If you put every piece from a fruit basket and make it a mixed juice , the end product would be BHAI . Director  Veerabhadram Chowdary tried to make this blend but the proportion was not right and it horribly went wrong. And coming to our King Akkineni Nagarjuna as Bhai yaa one more time as DON with suits and boots , doesnt really get it well. A good actor is one who learns from mistake but after so many flops from ragada , King , Kedi , Don , Damarukam , Greeku veerudu and Boss, still he had not learnt anything from history. His body language was good but his too much overdose of punch dialogues were horrible and same old stunts we irritating to watch. Once side the script is nothing new as so many movies have came with the same story still we felt it could give us some treat but unfortunately nothing short of getting a headache. Adding to that is this DSP music with Drums and beats only , even for sentiment emotional scenes or romantic song , he tries drums and folks. Horrible it is....looks like he doesnt know anything else. I believe even our Drums sivamani can be best in this and can easily replace DSP , Such a headache it is..and adding to this every 10 minutes there is one song placed forcefully. Cant describe the pain sitting through this. We know nagarjuna can fit to a Don character but doesnt mean he has to do only that always and if he does , then better be the script and other departments support him. In this phase he will soon be out of the industry. Tamil actor Prasanna did his debut in Tollywood through this movie ,though he came in as a encounter specialist , no later he becomes a comedy police. And as usual there is a recent trend of using Comedy king Brammanandham in every movie and this movie is not even immune to it. He comes in at second half tries to give us some laugh to audience who are already tired and half dead. His magic didnot work in this film because those comedy tracks doesnt really suit with one side torture of constant songs placed everywhere. Richa Gangopadhyay was cool flling in as heroin but too much of everything is waste . Boring to the core and her presence in this film is only for filling up Songs with Nagarjuna. Overall one of worst movie again from Our tollywood King and every penny wasted. I doubt if its worth watching in theater unless if u are couples wanting to go to a empty theater filling up corner seat. I would rate 1/5 and that too for Nagarjuna only.

Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara ( 2013 ) IDAB :-
The decision was too late to watch this movie on a big screen but after i did , now i feel that this is not really a must watch movie to be watched in first week of its release. The trend of our film making continuous with these  kind of movies in name of Comedy genre with humor plot which disappoints me totally. May be its just the impact of going through so many movies of this type past four months in same plot but its really too much to take. Movie is nothing more of plot surrounding a life of five people surrounding TASMAC and how these parallel characters cross each other in their life makes the core story. If it was not for vijay sethupathi , this movie would have hardly passed a week in theaters. But i must admit that Vijay sethupathi acting as Sumar Munji kumar was one hell of a performance and his body language , dialogue delivery were just stunning and makes us laugh out our heart wherever he fills in this movie especially when he says Kumuda Happy annachi .He just proved that he can really take any kind of challenging roles and it was all VS fare throughout. But that said other characters also justified their presence. But the weak storyline or say a very very normal script disappointed me to a extreme. Songs were good but if we have to just enjoy a movie just for fun with no logic or no expectation IDAB might fill-in but for others. A very normal movie compared to other vijay sethupathi movies and it didnt impress me much. Watch it for VS else safely skip it.

Escape Plan ( 2013 ) - " Viewers couldnt escape from the Boredom "

As we almost know from the trailer what the plot going to be for this film , but just by the heavy guns on the film  Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger we all are very much pumped up to see this film on silver screen. Movie starts very firmly with a good show-up of SS as a Escape artist who can breakout from any Highly secured locked down prison. Its about how he gets trapped into a highly sophisticated prison like in Korean movie Old boy where people can pay private contractors who can kidnap , keep someone as prisoners for years or as how long they need and how he gets out from there with help of his prisoner inmate Arnold forms rest of the story. But with that high level of expectation we had , this movie was not really upto the mark , visuals were very normal so many loopholes untied ends and logic skips and was really not up-to the mark like his previous Prison movie "LOCKUP". Phase of the movie is good but the storyline was not strong enough and couldn't justify viewers at many places. Nothing much to say about it but if you like both these Big star movies then you might like this movie else this is just another normal movie to watch.

One of powerful haunting and disturbing movie i have seen in recent times. Movie is about couples Steve and Alexandra and how their life turns upside down in just one birthday eve. Steve is a successful businessman a home security consultant survived by his wife Alexandra and two cute children. Movie starts fine just like any other family drama but there comes a sudden twist when Steve returns home in evening on his birthday only to find that his entire house is locked down with no exit out from the house. He starts to realize that Alexandra had planned everything to lock him down and make him watch a recording of her own in TV. At first its starts with birthday wishes from her and from his children but no sooner things take a wild twist only for Steve to realize how unhappy Alexandra was with her married life and how much she was tortured and broken every-time when he was with her as if she felt like living dead. She tries to prove how pervert Steve was and how she felt every-time he came to her and so goes the story with finally Alexandra n children leave him totally orphaned by erasing every glimpse of their memories hurting him eternally high.

The movie is adults only as most part of the movie is filled with explicit content. Though the intention of it is too prove the intensity of the script and to depict the huge pain Alexandra went through , but yet at times it could make us feel uncomfortable. But definitely this is one hell of a unique script and a rare movie i seen before and sure was really engaging till the last reel. Might be this movie intend to send a strong message to larger audience , still something definitely makes us uncomfortable here. But the technical aspects , screenplay and making was just awesome and is definitely falls under my best thriller collection . No harm giving it a try and will be worthy.

Frozen Grounds ( 2013 )

One hell of a Investigation crime thriller , i never thought this could be that interesting and engaging. Based on True events about Serial Killer Robert Hansen at Alaska and How he was locked down with many trials of investigation is the story...John Cusack as Robert Hansen fit the role perfectly and did his best and never to miss mention Nicholas Cage with his stunning acting as a State trooper and investigation officer designated for this serial crime. Just really felt sorry for the victims at end of the film as more than 30 plus victims were brutally killed and 70 plus victims were raped and tortured. Till now , no one new the real motto behind his kills but they way he was depicted in the movie sends chills to our spine as in were were in Frozen grounds of Alaska. We cant expect too much of a dramatic finishes as its based on true story but yaa director Scott Walker did his best to cover as much details as possible in the short run of this movie..I would say not to miss this movie and this is sure worth a watchable thriller on recent times based on a serial killer.

I like Powerstar PawanKalyan Movies so much...!! Be it Kushi , Tholi Prema , Balu , Thammudu i liked them all...But the trend of constant failures recently pisses me off..Not sure if his Director or script selection is going wrong but such a capable actor is gonig to dust at dawn. So sad this movie also joins his leagues of other failures. DSP Music after certain time becomes headache to the audience who are already in a life and dead situation watching this movie. First 15 minutes goes on but slowly this movie turns to crap. PK has put up lot of weight and he might need to consider stopping his overacting a bit. Such a nausea feel this movie gives with 500+ blender mistakes everywhere. Horrible. If its not for Brahmanandham or Samantha , the experience watching this movie would inside a theater would felt like hell. Totally Not worth and a complete let down. My rating : 0.5/5

Raja Rani - " A movie with Heart & Soul "

If there is a movie which surpassed my yet another favorite movie VTV..then easily this would be it...!! I am just awe struck with the way the movie went and i was just mesmerized on how the movie traveled along...!! The feel and joy you get while watching this movie is unmeasurable and its just stunning. Right from the word go , this movie just kicked on and till the last minute even including the bloopers..haven't felt let down even for a single minute and surely this movie is one hell of a awesome romantic love story ever made...!!!

Yes this is in lines of all other similar movies like Mounaragam , Kabhi alvida naa kehana or say Antha Ezhu Naatkal , but this is so unique compared to all and so wonderfully made. I really not expected such a onscreen performance from nayanthara , but she just really dazzled away with her acting and for sure she did a awesome acting in this film. That said , a movie can satisfy audience only when every character in the movie does their job well and in this film there is no outperformed characters or actors , be it Jai , Arya , Nazariya , Santanam , sathyan or sathyaraj..they all did their acting splendidly especially Sathyaraj acting is perfect as a father to nayanthara , he really did well...!! Not just romance , even the fun quotient and comedy inclusion by santhanam and sathyan was excellent and you would laugh out your stomach.

But the highlight of this movie is how arya and Jai took the movie through. Both being a different kind of characters...chance-less...wow..Such a beautiful romantic feel you get watching this and there were so many places you just cant control your tears..such a heart touching scenes leaving its marks in your memories. Simply this is a true Feel good movie and at same time a perfect entertainer. Hats off to Atlee for pulling out such a script so fine. Was definitely a crystal ball experience watching this movie . Never to miss mention G.V for his stunning tracks and BGMs throughout especially chillena song along with a stunning visual was just mind blowing. Not just one scene or two..there are so many favorite scenes in this movie and so touchy , melancholic too..!! No second thoughts that i am going to watch this movie again and again no matter what...

Final Verdict : Don't drown urself for any negative views as you would be a big time loser to miss watching such a finest romantic feel good movie .This movie will now remain my all time favorite . My Rating : 4.6/5

New World (2013) Korean :-

Waah..what a gansta movie i watched. For sure this movie proves Koreans are best at their work, They way thes guys pull out such a stylish gangsta flick is just mind blowing. Hoon-jung Park did a perfect job in this movie and its not easy to pull a 134min movie so interesting keeping our watch at bay. The story is simple deals with how a snitch intrudes into a mighty King empire " Goldmoon" , a one way ticket and how he rises up from a slag to throne was nicely scripted to perfection. This is not a all in all out action flick but a read good slow steady crime drama with many characters blended perfectly in.

And for sure you may not wanna miss " I saw the Devil" movie fame Min-sik as Chief Kang , whose role is a Insider and a game player Cop who plans to bring down the entire empire. But the real show stealer is Jung-Jae Lee with his Brilliant acting as a Spy and how he rises to the position or must say forced to take a side was wonderfully pictured. Hats of to the screenplay being a lengthy movie , how the tensions build up on the script and the way slowly this movie turns out to a revenge subject was just cool.

None would have expected why Jeong-min Hwang ( Jeong Cheong ) spared life of Jung-Lee until last few movies of the movie and how Jung tears down when Jeong at hospital or when Jeong sees the Rolex watch as gift for him is so touchy. Background was soothing and damn cool. But the high point is last 15 min with a perfect twist at the end is just awesome.Be it action , romance , music this movie has it all and for sure this adds up to my favorite list and as one of finest crime drama i seen recent times.

Verdict : New World is sure a New Era of Stylish Gangsters with Suits and Boots. Korean makers are masters of it. DONT MISS IT.

D Day ( 2013 ) :-
A nice fine gripping movie , about the attempts of INS To arrest India's Top most wanted man. A movie which will take us to the other side of the wall to understand the life there in karachi and kind of politics involved in capture and involvement of ISI shown point blank. Though very highly controversial relating to real life characters irrespective of the disclaimer that this movie doesnt imitate any person living or dead , still this is one of daring attempt made and very engaging till last minute. Such a powerful acting from the legend Rishi kapoor sir is top notch with that of supporting roles from arjun rampal was a stunner and no doubt with the performance from the acting genious Irrfan Khan was a stunner. This def adds to top good movies released in 2013 and if anyone havent tried it...do it and enjoy this breathtaking movie .
